Bharat Taxi is the first national cooperative ride-hailing platform, which has been developed by the Ministry of Cooperation and the National e-Governance Division.

The country's first cooperative taxi service is starting from December. It has been named 'Bharat Taxi'. Its pilot project with 650 drivers will first start in Delhi in November.

After this, it will expand to other states of the country from next month. By then, 5,000 drivers and women 'Saarthi' (drivers) will join it.

Currently, private companies like Ola-Uber are providing taxi services, but questions regarding safety have often arisen in them. Therefore, the central government is bringing its own supervised taxi service.
