Syracuse, N.Y. — The fourth Syracuse mayoral candidate debate in 10 days had two of the candidates screaming in each other’s faces as a crowd of about 200 people hollered toward the stage.

A heated exchange between Deputy Mayor Sharon Owens, the Democratic nominee, and attorney Thomas Babilon, the Republican candidate, erupted about 20 minutes into a roughly 80-minute debate Thursday night. It was hosted by news website Central Current at the Everson Museum of Art.

The other two candidates, independents Tim Rudd and Alfonso Davis, remained in their seats as their opponents stood and began shouting at each other, with Babilon pointing a finger close to Owens.
