EAST LANSING, Mich. — The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team got its preseason started with a stiff road test, and while the Falcons held their own, they ultimately fell 75-66 in an exhibition contest at Michigan State on Thursday.
A 12-2 run by the preseason No. 22-ranked Spartans in the latter portion of the second half helped them seal the victory.
BGSU trailed 57-50 with 13 minutes to go following a pair of free throws by Michigan State’s Jaxon Kohler, and then responded with a 7-0 run to tie it. Javontae Campbell kick-started the rally with a layup, Sam Towns added a tip-in layup off a turnover and a 3-pointer to make it 57-all with 10:32 remaining.
Michigan State got a fastbreak hoop from Coen Carr and a 3-pointer by Trey Fort that put it ahead for good. The marg
