BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - A Rudder High School student riding a scooter was hit by a vehicle this morning while on his way to school.
According to the Bryan Police Department, the driver of the vehicle failed to yield at the crosswalk at Mitchell Elementary and hit the student on the scooter who was crossing at the designated crosswalk.
Administrators, emergency responders, and Bryan Police all responded to the scene.
The student’s mother was contacted and arrived to the scene as well.
The student was conscious and alert, and his mother transported him to the emergency room to be treated for minor injuries.
BPD issued the driver a citation for failure to yield right-of-way.
