The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has suspended Greco-Roman wrestler Sanjeev after serious inconsistencies were found in his domicile and identity documents, according to a notice issued by the federation on Thursday.
Conflicting Records Between Delhi and Haryana
The WFI said the documents submitted by Sanjeev contained conflicting details about his place of birth and residence, showing both Delhi and Haryana in official records.
Sanjeev, who competed in the 55kg category at the 2023 Senior World Championships (in a non-Olympic weight class), was knocked out in the opening round.
