SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The completion of the Sunshine Street Bridge project has been delayed to the end of the year, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT).

The project, which began in August, was initially expected to be finished by the beginning of December. However, MODOT cites construction progress and recent weather issues as reasons for the delay.

Hill expressed disappointment but was not surprised by the delay, stating that projects in Springfield "tend to wait longer and longer as they go on."
