A first-of-its-kind meeting is taking place in Indianapolis this week.
The meeting is to discuss potentially redrawing the state line between Indiana and Illinois.
The newly formed Indiana-Illinois Boundary Adjustment Commission, established earlier this year, is tasked with evaluating the idea of shifting the border to include 33 rural, conservative Illinois counties into Indiana.
The commission met Wednesday to elect officers. Illinois lawmakers would need to approve matching legislation to move the plan forward.
