After feeling tired, sore and underwhelmed by her times for most of the season, Urbana High sophomore Kate Miner felt something else entirely as she crossed the finish line Thursday in the Frederick County Public Schools Cross-Country Championships.
“I am really happy. That was really shocking. I wasn’t feeling great today,” Miner said after comfortably winning the varsity girls race in 18 minutes, 35.19 seconds on a looping, 3.1-mile course at Utica District Park.
