SHREVEPORT, La. - Caddo Parish could soon make history by becoming the nation's first parish to guarantee early-learning access for every child who needs it.
Community Foundation director Kristi Gustafson presented new data to Caddo Parish commissioners today, highlighting recent progress in early education. The Shreveport-Bossier metro area reportedly improved or held its ranking in 30 of 41 community indicators, achieving the best results since 2015.
Gustafson emphasized that early education is a critical investment, noting it is proven to lower crime rates, raise graduation rates, and help build the workforce Louisiana needs.
