ILLINOIS ( 25News Now ) - It’s been over a month since President Trump launched Operation Midway Blitz to crack down on undocumented immigrants in Illinois, which Gov. JB Pritzker said lacked transparency.
Thursday, the governor established the Illinois Accountability Commission. Those among the newly founded board include a number of legal experts and a retired police commander.
The commission aims to build a public record of what federal law enforcement agents are doing while deployed in Illinois, while also gathering testimony from community members.
Pritzker claimed those in Washington, D.C. are not above the law, and that Illinois residents deserve transparency.
