The Higley Unified School District Governing Board has approved revisions to a policy governing discipline, suspension, and dismissal of professional staff members after brief discussion on its intent and changes.
The update to the policy passed unanimously following a question from Board Member Sara Jarman about whether the policy’s language adequately addressed follow-up and compliance monitoring.
“I just wanted to touch base how we're kind of feeling about this,” she said. “There was kind of an aspect of follow-up and compliance, like monitoring, like touching base, like recircling back. And I didn't know if this policy, how we feel about it, if it's good and gets to the point, if it's enough.”
