The Ursuline Lancers novice boys team and three Chatham-Kent Golden Hawks have qualified for the OFSAA cross-country championship Nov. 1 in Brampton.
They earned their berths Thursday at the SWOSSAA championship at Windsor’s Malden Park.
Miles Carrington led Ursuline to second place in the novice boys division by placing second individually in the four-kilometre race in 12:59.10. Teammates Lucas Mills (22nd), Nathan Winkworth (26th) and Alex Denomme (27th) also scored points.
In each division, the top two teams and top five individuals not on those teams qualified for OFSAA.
Chatham-Kent’s Gavin Lumley was fourth among novice boys in 13:03.70.
Chatham-Kent’s Gracie VanderGriendt was seventh in the senior girls’ six-km race in 23:16.20.
