MANCHESTER, N.H. —
The state Senate convened Thursday for the first time in several months to respond to Gov. Kelly Ayotte's veto of a bill intended to prevent electioneering by public employees.
Ayotte vetoed the legislation this summer.
Critics said parts of the bill were overly broad and could infringe on government workers' rights.
"If we put such vague, unsophisticated language into law, the only way public employees will be able to protect themselves is to keep quiet," said Senate Democratic Leader Rebecca Perkins Kwoka.

Senate Republicans said they are already working on another fix.
"So, I won't be voting to override the veto because we have also taken action on those items," said Sen. James
