CARROLLTON--- Standridge Stadium was the site for a pair of battles on Thursday, with Newman Smith hosting Bryan Adams in the nightcap of the doubleheader.

For the Trojans, there was a wave of expectation in the air. Smith entered on a five-game winning streak and undefeated in District 6-5A Division I play, while Adams has been the inverse and yet to grab its first district win.
