MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A man was found shot several times inside a car early Thursday morning in East Memphis, police said.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), officers were called to the 2500 block of Central Avenue for a shooting call around 5:15 a.m. They arrived to find a man inside a car who had been shot several times; he was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

No other details were released.
