Royal Lodge is a sprawling Grade II-listed Georgian house in the grounds of Windsor Great Park. It has seven bedrooms, and 30 rooms in total, including a Gothic dining room of particular historic interest and a 1,500 sq ft “saloon”, big enough to host grand wedding receptions (which it has, in fact, done).
Its private gardens extend for 21 acres and are especially charming when the rhododendrons are in bloom. It is, I think we can agree, a suitable home for a Royal Prince, the Duke of York, the Earl of Inverness, and Baron Killyleagh. Given that Royal Lodge has two wings, and there are six cottages in its grounds, all of these public servants would have plenty of space in which to co-exist and fulfil their respective duties, such as they are.
