In a celebration of life and resilience, Australia has officially shattered a Guinness World Record, bringing together the largest gathering of centenarians in the world.
On October 23, 150 of the country's elders came together for the historic event at NSW Parliament House, which comes just days before the nation's new rights-based Aged Care Act brings in a new era of dignity and reform.

The gathering combined 15,000 years of lived experience, in a cohort who were born before the Sydney Harbour Bridge was built, stealing the previous world record (of 70) from Italy.
