GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - More Greenville County officials are responding to the Sheriff’s Office request for a $12,000 pay raise.

On Thursday, Sheriff Hobart Lewis shared a post on Facebook pushing back against claims from some council members who said the county would have to raise taxes in order to those raises. He countered that the county just needs to prioritize public safety in the budget.

Lewis also said that some Sheriff’s Office resources, including all K-9 units and drones, were purchased through donations and fundraisers—not the county.
