Bengaluru: A two-member team from the Karnataka transport department has been deputed to Kurnool, to assess the bus fire tragedy which has claimed the lives of about 20 people so far.
The Bengaluru-bound bus from Hyderabad caught on fire on early Friday morning after colliding with a bike approaching in the opposite direction, which in-turn is said to have led to the bursting of the bus’ fuel tank.
“We’ve sent people who are fluent in Telugu, as it would help them navigate the situation. We’re unaware if there were any Bengaluru residents on the bus. We’ll only get the full picture once team reached Kurnool,” a senior official from the Transport department told DH.
