Palisade winery Sauvage Spectrum was awarded Best in Show for its 2024 Zweigelt at the annual Colorado Uncorked event on Oct. 18 in Denver. The Zweigelt was one of 12 wines selected to comprise the 2025 Governor’s Cup Collection.

Zweigelt is a red grape cultivar with origins from Austria and was also named best red wine among this year’s Governor’s Cup Collection. Fox Fire Farms, located in southwestern Colorado, won Best White Wine for its Aromella, according to a news release.

“Colorado Uncorked celebrates Colorado’s growing wine producers and our success in putting Colorado on the map for well-regarded wine regions,” Gov. Jared Polis said in a statement. “Congratulations to Sauvage Spectrum for their award-winning bright, fresh and fruity Zweigelt.”
