GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Charges are moving forward against 13 people following an operation that involved Lake City Police and Marion County Sheriff’s deputies.

FDLE officials say Operation 12 Parsecs was a five-day undercover sting designed to catch child predators.

Nine people from the panhandle and four from Alabama were arrested.

FDLE agents say the operation focused on suspects who tried to meet minors for sex, sent sexually explicit messages, or sent or received child porn.
