HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Women’s Community Correctional Center (WCCC) hosted a resource fair for nearly 150 inmates Thursday to help them prepare for their release.

WCCC hosted the event at the facility’s Maunawili Cottage courtyard in collaboration with the nonprofit Transforming Lives, the state’s Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DCR) Reentry Coordination Office, and the Hawaii Paroling Authority.

“I feel like this is a big benefit for a lot of us because, like, when we get out, we normally go back to what we know, which is the streets,” said inamte Danielle Mano-Kila. “So with this being provided for us, available for us, to take, like, advantage of it is big. We can help set ourselves up when we get released.”

Officials said the fair included more than 50 provider
