Kim Kardashian has suffered a brain aneurysm.

The 45-year-old reality TV star made the revelation during the premiere of the new season of her family series The Kardashians in which she was seen undergoing an MRI scan and later putting the terrifying health scare down to "stress".

Kim told her family: "There was a little aneurysm."

Her sister Kourtney Kardashian reacted to the news, saying: "Whoa!" before Kim went on to add: "They [the doctors] were like: '[It's] just stress'."

An aneurysm is a swelling in a blood vessel in the brain and most small aneurysms do not need treatment if they are not causing symptoms.

The Kardashians teaser then cuts to Kim talking about the turbulent time she went through as her marriage to rapper Kanye West - the father of her four children - crumbled.
