New Delhi: ISRO Chairman V Narayanan has resolved the uncertainty on the development of future mega-rockets, that have been seeing changes in the configuration over the years. At the Curtain Raiser for the Emerging, Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC 2025) organised at ISRO HQ in Bengaluru, chairman V Narayanan said, “Our first launch vehicle the capability was only 35 kg, what we successfully accomplished in 1980. From that, today we are talking about something around 30,000 kg to Low Earth Orbit, through the next generation launcher.” This is the configuration with a reusable first stage ‘booster’ that was approved by the Union Cabinet last year.
