DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A widespread frost greeted Central Illinois early Friday as we woke up in the low-to-mid-30s. A few 20s were reported.

Sunny skies will become mostly cloudy by afternoon with highs in the low-60s.

It won't be as cold the next few nights with more clouds.

Along with the clouds, scattered showers are in the forecast this weekend. However, some hometowns will have many dry hours.

Better rain chances arrive early next week.

The drought worsened over the past week across Illinois. 88% of the state is now in a drought.

However, conditions improved for those under a "Severe" or "Extreme" drought -- it dropped from 50% to 29%.
