Twenty people died after a Bengaluru-bound private luxury bus from Hyderabad caught fire after colliding with a bike near Chinna Tekur village of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh during the wee hours of Friday.
Since the accident happened around 3 am, many of the victims were asleep and could not escape the flames, which had engulfed the exit door. The bus belonging to Kaveri Travels was registered in Odisha.

President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and chief ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh expressed their condolences.
The total number of passengers who boarded the bus was 43. While 23 escaped through the emergency window, 19 people are currently in the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. So far, the police have recovered 11 charred bodies
