In our 45th anniversary year – and recognizing October as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, it’s timely to reflect on how Turning Point – a grassroots agency founded in 1980 in a church basement by three families concerned about rising domestic violence – has evolved from a shelter to a community beacon of hope, comfort, and empowerment for survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking.
