City officials announced a new $200,000 investment for new walking and cycling paths between Cherokee and Seneca parks Oct. 23, which is expected to strengthen the connection between the two vast green spaces.

The project features nearly 5,000 feet of new pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, including a dedicated path, new crosswalks and barriers separating vehicles from walkers, according to a news release from Louisville Parks and Recreation. The city's Department of Transportation will manage the project in partnership with Parks and Recreation .

Construction is underway and is expected to be finished by mid-November.
