BROWN COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - Ohio 125 is shut down in Brown County after a man’s body was found in the road early Friday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
A Rumpke driver came up on him lying in the road near Marion Street just outside of Russellville and called 911 around 5:30 a.m., said a dispatcher at OSP’s Georgetown post.
“We don’t know if it’s a hit-and-run. We just don’t know. There’s just a body in the road, unfortunately,” she said.
The Rumpke driver was on his route in a residential garbage truck when he came upon the body, confirms Molly Yeager, Rumpke’s spokeswoman.
The driver remains on scene while state troopers investigate.
The coroner’s office has been called to the scene.
It’s not clear how long Ohio 125 will be shut down, according to OSP.
