(KIMT) -- Friday morning featured the coldest air since mid-April with temperatures dipping to the mid to upper 20s. A Freeze Warning remains in effect through 9 AM Friday as temperatures hold well below freezing.

With ample sunshine expected Friday, temperatures will climb rapidly, eventually topping out in the mid to upper 50s.

South winds will gradually return Friday evening, allowing morning low temperatures to climb well above the freezing mark. There is no more concern for frost/freeze conditions for the foreseeable future. Clouds will be on the increase Friday night as an upper level low spins to our south.

This low could spark a few spotty showers Friday night into Saturday, but no appreciable moisture is expected at this time. Southerly winds will increase with gusts up to 20-2
