Two people were arrested last weekend following a child endangerment investigation in Glocester, Rhode Island.

Police say they were first called to the West Glocester Motor Inn on Sept. 2 for a reported landlord-tenant issue. As that investigation was unfolding, motel management contacted police after discovering suspected narcotics and drug activity inside the vacant room.

Evidence at the scene indicated that an 18-month-old had been living in the room where drug activity was observed and documented, according to police. The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) was immediately notified and opened an investigation after children's clothing, toys and other personal belongings were observed throughout
