AUSTIN, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced that motorists on Interstate 90 in Austin will face detours this Friday, Saturday, and Monday due to construction activities.
Starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, I-90 will close in both directions for 30 hours. Crews will build crossover lanes and work on the 4th Street Northwest bridge. The highway is set to reopen late Saturday night. Another closure is planned from 8 p.m. on Monday to 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
Eastbound traffic will be detoured off I-90 at Highway 105/Oakland Avenue bridge (Exit 175) and follow a route through Highway 105, Mower County Road 28, and Highway 218 to reconnect with I-90. Westbound traffic will be detoured off at Highway 218 south (Exit 180 B) and follow a similar path in reverse.
