PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Alaska Airlines said its operations have resumed Friday after it had to ground its planes for hours because of an information technology outage.
The airline shared in a statement Thursday evening that a temporary ground stop was in place due to the outage.
The airline made the announcement just before 4:30 p.m.
It asked that passengers check their flight status before heading to the airport.
Numerous passengers have since responded to the airline’s post on X, saying they were stuck on the tarmac awaiting further updates.
Alaska previously reported a ground stop in Seattle after an IT outage on July 20 that lasted about three hours.
