Mumbai Metro Lines 7 (Red Line) and 2A (Yellow Line) will operate separately as the city’s metro network moves to its next stage. Line 7 Trains from Gundavli will now go north to Mira Road. Line 2A Trains starting from DN Nagar in Andheri West will end at Dahisar East. Dahisar East will serve as a common ticketed interchange for both lines.
The Red Line 7 depot will stay at Charkop. It currently houses 22 rakes. The depots for Lines 2A and 2B will move to Mandale, near Mankhurd. The Mandale depot will have space for 72 rakes. This split gives each corridor its own operational control and maintenance capacity.
