The legal team for the inquiry into the death of Sheku Bayoh have stepped down, just days after the chairperson announced their resignation. ‌

On Friday, senior counsel Angela Graham KC, Laura Thomson KC and Jason Beer KC have stepped down. Junior counsel Rachel Barrett and Sarah Loosemore have also resigned. ‌

On Tuesday, former judge Lord Bracadale announced he would be standing down, after refusing calls by the Scottish Police Federation (SPF) to quit two months earlier. ‌

The inquiry team said his replacement would be decided by Scottish government ministers, with the new chair then appointing counsel.
