Strictly Come Dancing's Anton Du Beke has opened up about a chilling incident from his youth, when his father assaulted him with a knife due to his passion for dancing. ‌

Speaking to ITV's Life Stories host Kate Garraway , the dancer revealed that his father was an "alcoholic" during his and his sister Veronica's upbringing, leading to a volatile home environment. ‌

As reported by the Mirror, Anton recounted one particularly distressing episode when his father stabbed him in both the leg and stomach, resulting in a three-day hospital stay. ‌

Despite the severity of his injuries, a young Anton was eager to return to the dance studio, so he hid the true nature of his injuries, telling his dance mates that he'd "pulled a hamstring".
