Iwas skeptical when I first heard about Social Kitchen , which recently opened on the corner of Main Street and East Evergreen Boulevard in downtown Vancouver.
It seemed a bit much to call cooking classes “experiences” and charge $145 per person. However, after spending an afternoon in this charming space making pasta and sauce then sitting at a long table filled with my fellow students, I understand why it’s called an experience. The cost is justified and I will definitely return.
Owners Gene and Gretchen Fritz have worked for decades in the hospitality industry, and it shows. They transformed the space formerly occupied by a pizzeria into an elegant, high-tech space for cooking and eating. Social Kitchen is sleek and modern but warm and welcoming at the same time.
