NEW YORK (WPIX) – Democratic nominee for mayor Zohran Mamdani responded on Thursday to his opponent’s controversial remarks about 9/11, calling them “racist attacks.”
In an interview with PIX on Politics host Dan Mannarino, Mamdani took an emotional tone, addressing former Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s remarks on "Sid & Friends" a few hours earlier.
“This is disgusting,” Mamdani said. “This is Andrew Cuomo’s final moments in public life and he’s choosing to spend them making racist attacks on the person who would be the first Muslim to lead the city.”
On Sid Rosenberg’s podcast, Cuomo insinuated New York City would have been worse off if Mamdani were mayor during the terrorist attacks on 9/11, because of his lack of experience.
