CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - City leaders in Carbondale will celebrate a new reentry home for formerly incarcerated women.

According to a news release from Beyond the Walls the Movement and the SAFE Housing Network, the Daffodil Home is one of two new additions to the network.

They will be welcoming three women who are returning to the southern Illinois community after their incarceration.

They say it will help them rebuild their lives after prison, offering counseling, stability and community connection.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 24.

Community members will be joined by Carbondale Mayor Carolin Harvey, City Manager Stan Reno and Councilmember Nancy Maxwell.
