New Delhi: The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has approved defence procurement proposals worth around Rs 79,000 crore, aimed at enhancing the operational and logistical capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces.

For the Indian Army, the council granted Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for several major acquisitions, including the Nag Missile System (Tracked) Mk-II (NAMIS), Ground-Based Mobile Electronic Intelligence System (GBMES), and High Mobility Vehicles (HMVs) fitted with Material Handling Cranes.
