Escanaba manufacturing facility Race Ramps was damaged by fire Thursday afternoon, Oct. 31, local fire officials said.
While the plant, 2003 23rd Ave. North, was heavily damaged, no one was injured, the Escanaba Department of Public Safety said in a release. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Firefighters were dispatched at 12:13 p.m. Thursday after the fire was reported. Firefighters encountered heavy fire and smoke conditions when they arrived, the release said.
"Due to the nature of the material stored inside, the incident was quickly upgraded, bringing in mutual aid" from multiple area departments, the release said.
