China has outlined its next phase of economic and technological ambitions at the fourth plenary session of the Communist Party of China (CPC), held in Beijing from October 20 to 23, 2025. The discussions centered on the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan, which will steer the country’s priorities from 2026 to 2030.

Officials said strategic emerging industries such as new energy, new materials, aviation and aerospace, and the low-altitude economy are expected to create several trillion-yuan or even larger-sized markets.

Recommendations on the plan also noted that China will continue to strengthen its soft culture appeal.
