Every day of the year, Toronto cops send out half a dozen or more press releases seeking the public’s help in locating the vanished.

Around 99% of the time, the matters are done and dusted by the end of play the same day. The “missing” are located, and they are safe. Maybe getting drunk or high, hanging with girlfriends and boyfriends.

Sometimes, however, this doesn’t happen. Hours turn into days, then into months, and, tragically, maybe even decades.

Toronto woman Irma Galastica is in the 1% category. She has not been seen since Aug. 31, 2024.
