Robert Kraft’s quest for Canton has advanced once again.

Eligible for enshrinement in the contributor category, Kraft is still in the running as voters whittled down the field to 21 candidates. It’s no surprise, given Kraft was a semifinalist last year.

The field will be cut down to nine in an announcement next month, and later in November there will be one finalist chosen to represent the contributor category. With six Super Bowl rings, a hand in TV deals, and the evolution of the Patriots franchise under his stewardship, Kraft has a strong case but has been passed over in recent years.

“It just doesn’t make any sense to me. I don’t understand why it’s taken this long,” Drew Bledsoe told MassLive last year. “If you look at every different piece of his resume, that should qualify him. W
