WESTLAKE, Ohio (WOIO) - A Westlake group home worker was charged with an OVI and patient endangerment after he had not returned from driving three patients.
According to Westlake Police, on Monday at around 10:45 p.m., officers received a call from staff at a group home concerning some missing residents.
A staff driver had left with three men more than four hours before the call to the police, and staff were concerned because they had not returned within the normal two hours.
Staff told police that the three men are severely disabled and overdue for needed medications.
While police could not reach the driver, officers used tracking applications to see that the van was traveling in Avon Lake, Cleveland and Brooklyn.
