COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The son of a former South Carolina Gamecock is visiting the team this weekend as part of his recruitment.
In a Thursday post on X, Memphys Garcia announced he will be in Columbia for the Gamecocks’ game against Alabama on Saturday.
Memphys is the son of Stephen Garcia, who played under center for South Carolina from 2007-2011, going 20-14 as a starter and throwing for 8,000 career yards as well as 47 touchdowns in his career. He’ll also be honored during Saturday’s game as part of the 2010 South Carolina team, which was the last Gamecocks squad to defeat Alabama.
Per his X bio, Memphys Garcia plays quarterback at Jefferson High School in the Tampa area.
