Chelsea Clinton ripped President Donald Trump for tearing down the East Wing of the White House in an emotional op-ed in USA Today.

Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton , reflected on her eight years living in the White House while criticizing Trump for his extensive renovations to the historical building. She said that her family understood they were just “passing through” the White House, noting that it was a “temporary home.”

“Although I spent many of my formative years living in the White House, I always knew it wasn’t my house. It was my home, absolutely, but not my house. The White House belongs to the American people, and that’s why we call it the People’s House. I never forgot that,” she wrote in Thursday’s op-ed.
