BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- Gov. Jeff Landry signed an emergency declaration Friday after Louisiana SNAP recipients were warned that no new benefits will be available in November amid the ongoing federal government shutdown.
According to the executive order, the declaration allows the state legislature, which is currently in a special session, to use the Revenue Stabilization Fund to fund SNAP.
