A coordinated warrant sweep operation across Putnam County led to the arrest or surrender of 22 people wanted on various felony and misdemeanor charges, authorities announced.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office conducted the operation on the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 22, working with the Carmel, Kent, and Village of Brewster Police Departments, along with the New York State Police, the Sheriff's Office announced on Friday, Oct. 24.
The operation targeted 38 people with outstanding arrest warrants throughout the county. By the end of the day, 22 had either been taken into custody or made arrangements to surrender, Hess said.
Those arrested included individuals wanted on charges ranging from criminal possession of a controlled substance and grand larceny to criminal mischief and forged instruments.
Among those facing felony charges, according to the Sheriff's Office, were:
- Dana Reitano, 44, of Hawthorne — original charge: criminal possession of a controlled substance 4th degree;
- Yamahi Hogarth, 40, of New York City — original charge: possession of a forged instrument 2nd degree;
- Maurice Knight, 20, of Brooklyn — original charge: grand larceny 4th degree;
- Mario Diaz, 30, of the Bronx — original charge: criminal mischief 3rd degree;
- Tristan Williams, 27, of Carmel — original charge: criminal mischief 3rd degree;
- Genitan Shala, 24, of Yorktown — original charge: aggravated unlicensed operation 1st degree.
Those facing misdemeanor charges are:
- Brittney Mancusi, 30, of Kent — original charge: criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree; also charged with bail jumping;
- Mikyla Morgan, 23, of Beacon — original charge: criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree;
- Vedette Lawler, 43, of Patterson — original charge: criminal contempt 2nd degree; also charged with bail jumping;
- Michael Torres, 47, of Cortlandt Manor — original charge: criminal contempt 2nd degree;
- Christopher Hammonds, 44, of Carmel — original charges: criminal contempt 2nd degree and resisting arrest;
- Marcus Meyer, 53, of Brewster — original charge: aggravated driving while intoxicated; also charged with bail jumping;
- Jorge Chutabalan, 23, of Brewster — original charge: driving while intoxicated;
- Nathaniel Mac Elhinney, 43, of Carmel — original charge: aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree; also charged with bail jumping;
- Michele Montague, 62, of Cold Spring — original charge: aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree; also charged with bail jumping;
- Randyn Dickens, 41, of Brewster — original charge: aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree; also charged with bail jumping;
- Eric Bermeo, 25, of Yorktown Heights — original charge: aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree;
- Steven Freed, 36, of Peekskill — original charge: aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree;
- Peter J. Andolina, 31, of Beacon — original charge: aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree;
- Sean Gannon, 35, of North Salem — original charge: criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree; also charged with bail jumping.
The Sheriff's Office said one person with an active warrant was found to be incarcerated in New Jersey, another was confirmed deceased, and two others arranged to surrender at a later date.
