AMELIA, Ohio (WXIX) - A 4-year-old boy with autism is hospitalized after being found unresponsive in a pool, Pierce Township police said.
It happened Thursday around 4 p.m. along State Route 132 near White Birch Lane.
The boy and his father were at home when the boy made his way to the above ground pool, according to Pierce Township Chief Col. Paul Broxterman.

Broxterman says the boy’s father ran outside as soon as he noticed the 4-year-old was missing and found his son in the pool unresponsive.
The father ran with his son to SR 132 and flagged down a motorist who performed CPR until emergency services arrived, the police chief said.
Pierce Township police and fire found the 4-year-old unresponsive as they arrived on the scene.
